been a while...

i was informed by my husband that i hadn't posted on our blog for quite some time. in fact, i think that he was proud to say that HE was the last one to place a posting.
well, times have been busy and i just haven't gotten around to updating our blog and i am sorry for that. but i know that you all understand and will forgive me this time. perhaps next time not so much.
anyway. a lot has happened since the last posting. we've had family get-togethers and celebrations. we've visited the doctor (all good news). and my tummy is bigger each week. work is going well for both of us and life seems to be cruising right along.
hopefully we'll have some pictures up soon so you can all see what we look like now, in december 2008.
until then...God bless!

Catfish Hunter Found!!

(Watch Grumpy Old Men for details on the fish name)

So there we were minding our own business when a fish the size of a small car came out and looked at us from the other side of the glass, so we took a picture!!! -ha ha

Thanksgiving (with the Baileys) went well. The whole day consisted of planning for our shopping ;)...ok not all day, but we came up with a plan and went through with it very successfully. Larry and I went to Rogers for a "Black Friday" escapade. We found all kinds of great deals and had a whole lot of fun. We got gifts galore at great discounts. Other than that, LeAnn and I set up our tree - it looks really nice - we will have to have people over to see it. Hope everyone is doing well.

Sugar High

we had our 24 month check up on tuesday. i had to drink some tasty orange syrup/pop stuff - it was to test my blood sugar. yum!! not too bad actually.
then, when the doc took a look at my belly to measure it and check the heart beat, lil adam gave a good kick so that daddy could see my belly bulge. it was funny. and doc had to chase the little guy to get his heatbeat - he was moving all over - just like he is now. it's sooo fun to have that feeling!
anyway. doc said all is well and we're doin' fine. and the results from the blood test came back normal - yay for no justacional diabetes!
perty soon we'll have to get some photos of my belly on this blog. perry thinks my belly button is disappearing. ha! good times being pregnant.
so, that's about all for now. we're all fine and dandy - just trying to stay warm. oh, and if you get a chance, feel free to ask perry about his new transportation. he's excited about it.
p.s. the previous ultrasound wasn't real. but it was fun to post. and sometimes it really does feel like adam is "shifting" around!

Latest Ultrasound

LeAnn and I were kind of scared because the baby was moving soooo much. We could not figure out what was going on. So we went to the doctor to get another ultrasound. This time we got more than a picture, we got a video!!! We have attached it to the blog, thought you guys would like to see it! I think he takes after me!

P.S. All is well on the home front.

Hunting Weekend

We had a great time at Grandma Klodt's this past weekend for deer hunting. Unfortunately the guys didn't get any deer. Fortunately, Grandma made up for it with lots of great food and a place to rest. Mom and I helped Grandma in the kitchen (we were her "automatic" dish washer and dryer) and Perry helped out whereever he could - he rewired the air compressor that Dad brot and rode the 3-wheeler around. Good times! I even got to drive the 3-wheeler right before we loaded it up. I have a feeling that our little guy is gonna like motorized toys just like his daddy!

Tearful Farewell

We said good-bye to a family member last night. She wasn't with us for long, but we'll miss her just the same.

Isabel now has a new home and we're praying she'll be happier there. Marissa (the new gal in Isabel's life) said that we could come visit when we wanted.

So, it was with tears in Perry's eyes that he let "his Izzy" go.

Here are a few pics of Isabel... (above)

Wee One

Wow! What a day! Yesterday we got new tires and we even got to see our baby :) Yup, the ultrasound is attached. That's the side of our lil one hangin out in the womb. We were super excited to get to view the "thing" that's been inside me for the last 20 weeks (and hopefully it will continue to hang in there for another 20). We're so proud of our wee one and are praying everyday for its health and future. God has really blessed us with an awesome miracle!
p.s. if you're wondering male or female...well, you'll just have to ask us in person ;)

Groomed - but not for long

Well, we finally had to get her groomed. It was her first tramatic experience with the groomers and we think that she turned out pretty good. She got a perty bandana and everything. Isn't she cute?

This past weekend we went to the Minnetonka Orchard with family. It was a great day - the weather was fine. Here are some pics from that day!

And The Weeks Go On

Well, we just had our 15/16 (depending on who you ask) week appt with the doc. He said that all was well and everything appears to be healthy. We were able to listen to the heartbeat again and it was good and strong! Our next appt will be our 20 week appt and we'll have an ultrasound done then. So hopefully I'll remember to put some pics of that on the blog.
As for the dog...she's doing well. Still a little stinker and a typical puppy. We're still trying to house-train her and all that goes with that.
In other family news...we were able to spend some time with my cousing and his wife and daughter this past weekend. He's been a missionary in Brazil and it was good to be able to see them again.
That about covers it I think. At least for now. Maybe I'll get a creative inspiration tomorrow and add some more.
Take care of you!

Good and Bad

Well, the days are passing quickly. We had a great Labor Day weekend and now are trying to get ready to face the feeling of fall.
It's been about a week since Isabel got her cast off. She's feeling a lot better, but she's pooping more then ever! I know that sounds awful, but it's true. So, we're learning to hold our breath and clean up after our puppy. Other then the mess, she's pretty cute with her yellow funnel/cone and her bum leg (I'll have to get a photo of that for you). She is starting to use her leg more and more, so that's a good thing. We have a vet appt tomorrow and will get the vet's opinion as to how she is doing. We hope the news is positive.
Perry is busy at work and playing with toys and trying to spend time with the dog. He almost gets the jist of how she behaves, and then she goes bonkers again. But I think he's will to put up with her for a little longer anyway.
And me, I'm doing well. Tired most days, but that's normal. We've been working on the nursery and trying to get some things decorated and organized. It's fun and hard at the same time. But God's helping us out and giving us the strength to do what we need to do.
Ok, it's time for me to sign off. Hope all is well with everyone reading this. Have an awesome day!

Our Big News

Well, we've been holding it in long enough. It's time to tell the world (the internet world I guess) and our family and friends what's new at the Haislet Household.
Okay, are you ready for it....
here it comes....
it's coming.....
oh boy, I just can't wait to share............
WE GOT A NEW GLIDER!!!!!
Isn't that great?
Okay, seriously, here's the news...we're pregnant! Yup, it's true. And we're so excited :) Yay! I'm due March 10th and counting the days (not really). So, that makes me 12 weeks (in case you were wondering) and I'm feeling fine. It's been a fun journey so far and I can't wait for what God has in store for the rest of it. His miracles are always a blessing.
So, as the weeks and months go on, I'll be sure to update the blog and let you all know how I'm doing and whether or not I can see my feet in those last months (ha, ha).
Thanks for all your prayer and support and we look forward to sharing our blessing with you!

Perry's New Toy

Well, as if having a dog wasn't fun enough... Perry decided to get another motorcycle (pictured at the right). As you can see, it's smaller than the other one, but definitely brighter. Perry loves the color - yellow is his favorite color. And, of course, our nephew, Micah, had to try on both motorcycles for size. We think he looks like spiderman on the yellow one. Good times!!!

"Casted"

Our puppy is a 3-legged gimp now. It's funny to watch her "walk". Poor puppy.

Our Clutzy Puppy

Well, here's an update on our little pup.

Last weekend Perry was changing oil on his dirtbikes and had the dog with him. She was keeping her distance for much of the time, but when a pan of oil was set down, she had to explore it. A couple of gulps later, Perry scooped her up and began to wash out her mouth and nose. Then he called his aunt, Terri, and she saved the day by telling him to soak bread in hydrogen peroxide. That made Izzy puke and thus getting the oil out of her system. She napped for an hour after that, but the next day, she was back to normal - jumping and nipping and being a puppy.

So, last night, as if she hadn't had enough fun with the oil, lil Isabel decided to fall off her kennel and break her leg. I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed when I heard the yelping. I asked Perry what was going on and he said, "Oh, she just fell and broke her leg." I thot he was kidding. Turns out, Perry took the day off work and took the dog in for an x-ray, and sure enough, her leg was broken (see picture). Bummer. Guess we won't take her for any long walks real soon.

We're learning a lot tho, just by having a puppy in the house.

Perry's 25th Birthday Party

We had a great time at Perry's 25th birthday party. My family was there along with Perry's brother, Brady, and Brady's girlfriend, Brittany.
We had a little too much fun with the party "blowers"! Ahh, good times, great laughs.
Perry was the one taking the picture, so we don't get to see the birthday boy here, but I'm sure he'll be in more pictures later.

We're Here!

Well, we finally made it to the blogging world. I figured, since we had a few things to share with others, we might as well share it via the computer. Everyone is using the internet so much, it's a great way to stay in touch or keep updated. So, here we are, among the many. We hope our info is a joy to all of you.

New Pup

She was too cute and the deal was just too good. So, we added another member to our family of 2 - we are now 3!
Isabel is the name, pooping is the game. Unfortunately, this first week has been a doozy for lil Izzy and for Perry too (he's been off work and the main one to care for her). But I think we'll make it. She is just a puppy still, there's time for learning.
